Yes, Reader, you've probably heard that you need to delegate, but why is such simple advice so difficult to implement? The work lies in preparing to delegate, and we are not talking enough about it. You can't hand off anything to anyone if they don't have a set of instructions.

• If you want to hire a VA, you need to instruct them
• If you want a house cleaner, you have to tell them who you like your home
• If you want to use Instacart? You have to shop those aisles virtually.

I'm not saying this to overwhelm you, but if you are delegating but still feel overwhelmed, this is why. So how do we not let delegation overwhelm us? Here are a few steps:

• Don't try to delegate everything on your list at once.
• Pick the priority and start there.
• Give yourself a few weeks to ensure the delegation is working (Maybe you don't like those housecleaners) before moving on to the next.
